Tulsa dining ranges from casual to more elaborate, with emphasis on diversity. The Chalkboard, in the historic Ambassador Hotel, provides European bistro atmosphere. Blue Dome Diner & Route 66 Mother Roadhouse serves comfort cuisine, as does the Texas Roadhouse on 71st Street. Billy Sim’s BBQ on Sheridan Road is big on barbeque, as is Rib Crib BBQ on Harvard Avenue, and Albert G’s Bar-B-Q, also on Harvard. James E. McNellie’s Public House serves Irish pub favorites. Also popular are The Green Onion, Ham It Up, The French Hen, Josie’s Tamales, and Cheddar’s. Sushi and other raw foods are a specialty at In The Raw on South Peoria and In the Raw on the Hill, on 35th Place. With cooking classes on the side, Cowboy Sharkies serves spirits and sandwiches, with a Lil’ Buccaroos kids' menu. Chains range from Abuelo’s Mexican Food Embassy, On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina, and Whataburger to Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, Outback, and Steak & Ale.
